Mass air conversion. Will this work?
I have been gathering parts for my 92 f150 5.0 mass air conversion. I have a spare speed density harness that I will be converting, an A9L mustang ECU, and a stock F150 mass air intake box with the single tube and the y connector for the throttle body. The mustang mass air meter that I should use is an inline tube connection in and out but the F150 mass air meters bolt onto the air box. So would it screw anything up if I got a mustang mass air sensor and mounted it onto the F150 alluminum meter housing? Since I already bought the air intake setup I would like to use it if possible.

The whole unit(the meter body and sensor) is designed to work together and replacing the sensor with a different one won't necessarally deliver predictable results and it won't match a Mustang meter either, so you're better off just using the truck MAF meter as it. And even though the unit will have slightly different response then what the Mustang EEC is programmed for it's still scaled for 19lb injectors so overall it should be fine once the computer has had some time to calibrate itself.
