I just replaced all 8 injectors and gaskets(didn't replace the old connections but told to only if there was a meltdown of old ones) in my 2002 f350 7.3.Idles a little rough, computer shows #S 3,5 & 8 as being bad.Replaced those 3 with new ones and computer shows the same codes?Check engine light comes on periodically,it's like a slight miss when you hit the accelerator but then runs great. What else could be the problem.Ran a compression test and it checked out and fuel pressure is 69+.My mechanic buddy is good it's just that he doesn't work on diesels much.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Brian in Central Texas.
Do you have the gray CPS installed? The gray CPS always shows my #3 and #8 bad, but they are working fine. How many miles have you driven the truck since you changed the injectors?
What codes are you getting?
For future reference, computers can NOT determine if injectors are bad. An injector code could be anything from broken wire, loose/bad connection, solenoid, CPS etc. What are you using to interface with the PCM to run diagnostics?
Write down and then clear your codes. Start your engine, drive around for a little bit and check codes again. Post the results back here and we can help you with the next step(s).
