Guys, I recenly purchased an '88 F-150 with one locking hub missing. I've not been able to find aftermarket hubs, and am reluctant to purchase spindles/knuckles/rotors/etc. to convert to standard hubs (mine has the odd flange mount hubs). If anyone has just one hub they are willing to part with, please let me know.
What do you mean you cant find aftermarket hubs? Just about every parts store I have ever been in has a set in stock. Your best bet is to buy a pair and install them on both sides.
I understand your dilemma! I have an '87 F150 w/the flange (or tophat) style hubs. When I purchased my truck the previous owner stated that he had stripped the hubs. Well, I went to purchase new ones, which were in the ballpark of $600 for those flange style hubs. I went to a local salvage yard and did a complete swap of the hubs off of a '93 model F 150. It only cost me $220 for axles, spindles, rotors, hubs. It only took me and hour to do both sides and was really straight forward. You may want to perform the same operation on your truck!
i dont know where your located ...but i am in new jersey and have a set of spindles off my 84 bronco that i would be willing to part with, and also an 89 250 i am parting out if you wanted to upgrade to heavy duty brakes and what not.
Well, I don't have a picture of the hub, but you can go to http://products.warn.com/warn.nsf/wa...ucts.Main.html and look under locking hubs, then standard hubs, and the picture of the Flange mount hub (the black one) is what we're talking about.
