What are my choices of wheels for a 1966 f100? What is the exact lug spacing? Is it 5.5 on 5 or is it 5 on 5? I really like the Torque thrust wheels but I have not seen a truck like mine with them. What do you guys/gals think? Thanks.
Should be 5 by 5.5 pattern. A local speed shop in my town, Eugene, Oregon has a set of 'torque thrust' style wheels with dark spokes for sale for I believe $650 for four in nice shape with center spinners, I don't know what shipping would run, not cheap I am sure, but still probably less than new ones, even if they come in 5 X 5.5. Good luck, and if interested in these wheels, let me know and I will get the speed shop's number for you. ~ Michael, aka 62uni
Unfortunately I tend to plan too far ahead. At least too far ahead of my finances. I still have to scrape up some money before I can buy wheels for the old truck. I will keep it in mind though. Thanks again!
I want TQ Thrusts for mine too, but after researching it, they won't fit!!
They make the bolt pattern, but the center hub opening isn't large enough for the trucks (4.25" needed I'm told). Makes me so mad...
There is a wheel that AR makes called a "325" that doesn't look too bad for a spoked wheel.
I'm looking at another possible solution of an AR wheel that is similiar to the TQ Thrust but not a 1 piece casting...you'd have to paint the spokes to look like 'em but it's do-able, I saw two cars at a show this week that had that done and they looked pretty nice.
Wheel choices are limited for our trucks.
I have been tempted to purchase the ones I saw in the local hot rod shop, as they are oldies from the '60's and where made for Ford trucks, but kinda pricey for me right now, and if I can spare the bucks, I'll want to change to an IFS of some sort, with a more common wheel bolt pattern, know doubt. The speed shop wheels are 15 X 6, I believe, not very wide by today's standard, but score big points for nostalgia.
Dont' know if thise helps... but I got wheels off of a 96 or 97 F-150 XL... steel wheels. They fit but I had to drill the holes bigger and use washers and nuts. I painted them silverish and had the chrome centercaps... Looks pretty good for the money (free w/ 4 new tires from lady at work)
Id also like to know the bolt pattern.. If anyone knows for sure, let me know
