heater upgrade

I am just getting around to upgrading the heater to a chevy motor and squirl cage out of a 78 half ton truck, that was suggested on this site some time ago. I am electrically challenged so this might sound simple but I could use some help. The chevy motor has one wire coming out of it and the original bronco has a power and ground. I am assuming that I could hook the power wire up and then ground the black wire to a screw on the the motor assembly? Will this work?

Never done the swap, but sounds like the only way. Check it with a battery first if you want to be sure.

Way late reply but nope, that won't work. The heater box is made of a non-conductive composite material. You'll need to run the ground wire to a point on a metal part of the body/dash. I did the mod and it's a significant increase in output!

There is another wrinkle too.... I did this mod a while back too.... I think you have to make the hole in the heater box larger as well... my 67 dash had two holes for the defroster... my 74 has three.... one in the middle... the 67 dash will not clear the center of the windshield on a good damp cold day...

You can use a blower motor from a 1992 Ford F250 without AC.

'87-'97 are the same, but if you buy new the counter monkeys at the parts store are easily confused if you don't give them a single year.
