Bed top/ camper...

Bed top/ camper...
With the winter coming up, and the fact that this is my first winter in New York, I really don't want my bed to be open and covered/filled with snow... i've tried looking on craigslist in the area, tried ebay, tried amazon, and haven't been able to find anything for our trucks other than the toneaus that just flatten at the top of the bed, and i want one that goes to the top of the cab... anyone have any suggestions? i would prefer used, since they're cheaper, but i'm not above breaking down and buying used...

If you don't mind the drive there are several on CL Phila, PA. Should fit all Ford & GM same yrs same length, not sure about Mopar/Dodge dimensions. Could also check w/ local salvage/u-pick-it yards, usually damaged easily in the yards & they just want to unload them. Couple yards around here call the cap retailers to see if they will buy the yards caps in bulk so they can unload them for quick $$$.

yeah, the yards around here are almost non-existent, so i think i'm going to have to drive a ways to find something... guess i'll start scanning nearby state's CL... I saw one guy on here that had a soft top shell... that was pretty cool, but i wonder how it'd hold up to the snow...

On CL I usually just type in "truck parts" or "Ford truck parts" in the auto parts section get at least 3 every time. Seen them listed as cap, bed cap, bed cover, camper top, bed top, and topper.

Too bad we didn't live closer together, I bought my truck with a topper and I don't care for them much. Which is too bad cause its in awesome shape, its even white, lol.
There are a lot of MFGs of toppers or "Bed Caps" as most of them are called. They still make them new but wow are they spendy, even without paint.
