Ok I have an 2000 Explorer with side airbags, a flashing airbag light which is flashing 3, pause, 7 pause, repeat twice.
I have had the truck in twice for airbag problems, and wanted to research what this code was prior to taking it in. I searched for this code but could not find it.
Also the light flashed the code on 3 startups, but is not longer flashing the code is this normal?
I noticed that there is a small cable with a yellow connector under the passenger seat, this cable would be easy for someone to snag with a foot. The lasttime I had airbag problems, my mother-in-law road in the backseat behind the passenger seat, and this time with the problem arouse after she road in the same seat. Is it possible she might be snagging that cable?
Sorry it took so long for someone to reply.
The LFC (Light Flashout Code) 37 is for the passenger's side airbag. The wiring under the seat is a fairly common problem. Take a look to make sure it is all intact there before you take the vehicle in to get looked at. I've seen the connectors unplugged, wiring torn apart etc.
Let us know what you find.
Hey thanks for the reply. I actually unplugged the airbag cable under the passenger seat and plugged it back in. I have not seen the airbag light come back on since then.
I have to thank you guys...I have a '99 Explorer, & I've been having a prob with the airbag light goin on - code 3-7. I checked under the passenger seat & played around with the wire & connecter under there & PRESTO!!! the light went off!!
The dealer wanted something like $225.00 to fix it.
