I have a f250 with a 6 inch lift and 16" wheels and tires but 285-70. I was talking about a bit of excessive play in the steering compared to stock. Someone mentioned it might be the tires. He said that since the tires are larger than stock, the extra play in the larger sidewall on the 285 shows up as extra play in the steering wheel. He said I need to consider a tire with a more rigid sidewall. Does anybody have any experience with this?

I know the length of the pitman arm probably has somehting to do with it, I know it was changed, but not sure what I need to do clear up the play.
I know the stock pitman arm is too short.
4x41977: You had to change your Pitman are, right?
I bought the truck already lifted and I had to change a tie rod. Nothing else on the front end was sloppy except it needed shock bushings. (odd) but that helped but I still have about 11:30 to 12:30 play in the wheel.
