Delay Wipers on 94 E 150
I have a 94 E 150. It seems to be an electrical nightmare. I am always chasing something and I have been through tow clock springs. This about the wipers. The intermittant function does not work. Also when I use the washer the wipers come on and then they will not shut off till the car is turned off. I have already replaced the multi function switch and the problem is still there. Any thoughts. I don't want to spend the 80 bucks for a control module if it something else. Please Help
(2) A position cam switch (driven by the motor) maintains power when the first switch is turned off. This allows the wiper to return to the parking position.
(3) If your wipers "start" but won't stop, the parking cam must be out of adjustment. (Interesting - some-how it must break the current when power is removed. Can't see how this can happen)

The 24V truck wipers use a common numbering scheme to identify high, low and parker contacts. Look at www.hepworth.com (or hepworthmarine).
Of course these are truck wiper motors, but the principle of operation is the same. If you have a multimeter and can get at the wires, connect the negative lead of the meter to the car body, and operate the wipers. Note the voltage on each connection both in the stopped and running state.
If the intermittent function doesn't start the wipers, I suggest the contacts aren't closing (ie the control unit is faulty.) These mostly have an ic timer (perhaps NE555) and a relay. Disconnect one wire to the wiper (so the motor is silent) and turn the control unit to "intermittent operation". Put your ear on the unit body and listen for the relay's 'click' when it closes.
