Need to run an oil with lots of zinc (like diesel oils) or add a bottle of zinc additive.

Flat tappet lifters (which our engines have) can have loads up to 40,000psi when revving. Zinc prevents this extreme load from being metal to metal and causing excessive cam wear.
Zinc was taken out of automotive motor oil because it was found to damage catalytic converters over long periods of time.
Diesel, racing, and most high end synthetics provide protection for flat tappet engines.
