towing problems
The last two times I have towed with my wife's expy EL it has shuddered a few times at low speeds. I only tow approx 5000# boat approx 3 miles. The speed I travel is up to 40mph. It will shudder just a few blocks thru out the trip. It has 48000 ,iles and the power train warranty is good to 50k. So I need to find out what is covered under the power train? I really dislike dealers but seems I need to take back to them as it could be a warranty issue. Thanks for any constructive thoughts on the topic. Tomm

Are you sure it isn't the receiver moving around? There is typically a little slack for the hitch and receiver. I always get a little bump when starting, stopping, or bigger bumps
Or, do you have a 2 5/8" hitch on a 2" ball?

yep, wish it was the hitch, even told my self it must be the hitch. But no luck it is in the expy. So off to the Stealer ie dealer to see what BS they can drum up or mess up. Sorry history tells me that dealers are in it just for the minimums per vehicle they fix. ie $600 average per vehicle that goes thru their work bays, wish I did not believe it, but that damn history tells me different.

how about the trailer itself? are the tires flatspotted? does it have electric or hydraulic brakes that might be grabbing initially?
sometimes it's the stupid things that you don't look at. I'm assuming your Expy doesn't exhibit this behaviour any other time.
I'm interested in your trailers brakes. I know from experience that if you park it relatively quick after loading/unloading the trailer and let it sit for a while, the brakes will "freeze" up from slight corrosion. I let a trailer sit for 1 yr once and boy was it bad getting the brakes unstuck.

I really want it to be the trailer too! But it is just not the case. I did find out the dealer I plan to use is very good! I'll keep ya posted....
