Stolen truck alert Denver Highlands

I had a truck get stolen a couple years ago. The law in CO says they can't chase a vehicle if they know its stolen. The thief had changed the plates so any news of them spotting it never got back to me. They found it when the thief had been "lit up" by the cops because he had smashed the back of the truck and had a tail light out. Of course he ran and the cops couldn't chase him but they stayed on the trail and found the truck against a tree. Thief had fried the clutch and bailed. They told me that in the two weeks he had my truck he had been chased at least 3 times. It took him wrecking the truck for them to get it back. They did eventually catch him though, only because his x-gf turned him in.
Without making this a longer story, the guy was a methhead and there were several other people involved in a string of car thefts. So if your friend had anything of value (stereo, tools, etc) in the truck, check the pawn shops around. Check for the truck in parking lots of crappy motels and apartment complexes. I found out they had been at 2 different places within a couple miles of me. I hope he finds it.
