Highboy with Dual Wheels

First, I want to say this site is a great resource. Just bought a '74 Highboy and have been reading all I can about them in the threads here.

My question is, were there any highboys which came with the dual rear wheel Dana 60? Nowhere in the threads can I find this info.

There is also another highboy up the road from me that also has the duals in the rear ( both trucks have farm flats on them).

Both trucks have all the typical highboy signs (divorced NP-205, 2 /14" springs, factory blocks in the rear, etc.)

Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the information.

Yes they are out there, how ever I think they all came from the factory that way, with extra purchasing in mind. Becarefull if you want to put them on, I believe High boys use narrower springs.
I'll look around.

Ford never made a 4x4 with duals from the factory before sometime in 85. (2)...Any truck with duals is going to have a dana 70 series rear axle. (3) the only f350 , 4x4 that ford made initially was a Cab @ chassy f350 with duals. regular cab , f350 , 4x4's(with duals) did not become available until sometime in the early 90's. fd

Thanks FD, I thought my uncles truck was a 79', however when calling him he said it is an 84(probably a late model).

Personally, I would rather be 21 and just "starting" to learn about the history of fords, than to be my age and already have the knowledge. Old farts just get to look at those sweet lil'things , but you'll still get to chasum'... fd
