finally fixed the door ajar problem
About 6 months ago the door ajar light stayed on for 10 minutes after turning off the car. I tried the wd-40 and no luck. I took the door apart twice but was unable to remove the unit, so I just lived with it. The last month the driver door lock went. The last week the battery died.
So at work I researched how to take the door apart and found a post with pictures step by step how to do it. After work I did it, started with the drivers door since the lock was broken and at the same time I replaced the door ajar sensor. $77 in parts from the dealer.
Fixed it the first time. I figured there were 7 door sensors on the car and with my luck it would be the last one I changed that was the problem, but it was the first.
For the first time in a long time all the door locks worked and all warning lights were off.
Then, I kid you not, we went to out dinner and after dinner my daughter was locked in the car because the door lock on the right rear passenger door quit working.
I would also like to thank everyone here. I don't post often, but every time I have a problem with my 2004 Limited with 168150 miles I come here to figure the problem out.
