I'm looking at a 95 Crew cab, 5speed, xl with 239k miles. It is 4x4 and long bed. I am looking to convert it to power windows, locks, and cruise control. Any idea how I would go about doing this? In addition it has vinyl bench seats. How hard would it be to pull these for super duty seats, did they ever come in black?
cab lghts are easy, the wiring is behind the passenger kick panel, the rest you will have to run yourself . the cruise will be easy, also it was discussed a few threads down. a few people use super duty seats, so i know they will fit. i had 03 f150 seats for a while and all it took was a lil drilling and shimming.
Should the harness be in the doors for pl and pw? I've never had a vehicle with either so I am not real sure how the actuation system would work either.
On a related note, the VIN of my recently purchased '96 says it is an XL but the options list an XLT package. So if an XLT is an 'option pachage', what does it consist of? For what it is worth, mine does not have lights on the top of the cab.
$5k for this powerstroke. I know for certain if it doesn't have ac I am walking. I figure I'll wait a bit and spend the coin for that, or just get an idi crew cab
not if it didnt come with it. for that you will need a parts truck or alot of wiring on your own. when i did my conversiton, just going from a super cab to a crew was alot of work, and i have roll down windows in the rear.

i think the XLT gives you carpet and cloth seats instead of the rubbermat floor and power windows and locks. ive seen cab lights on and off all models, so i dont know what determied what models they came on,
