HIgh Pressure Oil Pump
I have a 2001 F350 Powerstroke. Lately when it gets cool (50s) in the morning it starts and dies several times before running well. Then this morning after dieing several times it never would restart. I checked the plug in the high pressure oil pump, there was no oil in it, I filled it up with oil and the truck started right up. Now it is starting all day real hard, spins a lot. Is this a bad high pressur pump or what?

It's probably not a bad HPOP. What you need to do is determine how long it's taking for the reservoir to bleed down and where the oil is going. Any external leaks or is it all leaking back down inside the motor?
Watch to see how far it drains down and at what level it stops at. Then look just above that level for the source of your leak. You will likely need to remove the reservoir cover to get a close look at things. A cracked standpipe is rare, but not unheard of. A bad gasket under the HPOP reservoir top portion is more common.

How long does it take to leak down? Sounds like you need to remove the top half of the reservoir and take a better look at things. For it to leak all the way empty is not a good sign. Maybe a cracked stand pipe or crack in the front cover itself.

I drove it the night before it leaked down and wouldn't start, it was fine, and empty/wouldn't start the next morning. When I primed it the other morning, it was hard hard starting all day and the next day it was fine, you wouldn't know anything was wrong with it if you didn't know. I don't know what to do, it leaked down over night and now it won't leak down at all.
