a lot of people that live in snowy climates have unprotected frames and underbody parts.
why? i mean, most every place uses salt during the snow seasons to clear the roads, and we all know how bad that can ruin an underbody. completely reduce it to nothing.
just watching out for you guys when i say spray your unprotected frames and related parts/brackets with some sort of underbody spray. i used rustoleum and it sticks and looks great too!
Drive in upsate ny for a winter and all that undercoating you put on would be gone in the spring. Between -30 degree mornings, salt, sand and washing itll disappear.
so it dissapears and then you put it right back on. its not that expensive.
and when are you gunna do this there chief? while you are laying on a bed of salt and slush or in a foot of snow? my uncle who lives in MT, said they used a combo of gravel, sand, and salt....he has a mister that he sprays believe it or not transmission fluid onto the bottom of his avalanche...weird...yes....effective? best ive seen to date.

They use plain gravel here in the mountains...killer on the rocker panels paint job. A coat of oil prevents rust from forming. Thats the theory behind the trans fluid, it works too for the most part.

hmm. yeah ADOT uses lots of road salt and i work at sears auto center in the shop as a college job and man the cars that come in there are so thrashed from being unprotected/unmaintained.
and oil=BIG MESS no matter if its effective or not
My truck currently has an anti rust defense mechanism that allows the engine to slowly cover my underbody in 10w30
should get that fixed..i would hate having any sort of leak. i want my f150 running like the day it came out of the factory. and it does, because im always on top of things.
You also live in Arizona where there's a much less chance of everything corroding. You have no idea how hard it is to keep everything working when you live in the rust belt.

You've obviously never been to or know anything about Flagstaff, AZ. One of my favorite places.
