hey guys i'm a new kid on the block i have a 02 f-350 7.3 runs like a top until here lately it acts like its losing its prime on the fuel . i have replaced the pump in the tank and installed a new fuel filter (wicks). you can turn the ing. on and let the fuel pump cycle about three or four times and it starts and runs like a champ but if you let it set a hour it you have to go through the same sec. to kep it running the truck has 240,000 miles on and i have put all of them on execpt for about 40,00 it had on it when i got it anyboby have a clue what the heck is happening here i would bemost greatful
Did you put an after market pump on. Our pumps are on the frame rail!What year truck. And you should use stock fuel filter if you didn't do a fuel bowl delect. Give us more details. Chet
i replaced the pump in the tank not the one on the rail , the fuel filter is a wicks filthe not a ford. he truck is a 2002 f-350 4x4 with 240,000 miles
no fuel pump in the tank at all on these trucks. check for leaks around the fuel bowl drain plug. could be that its leaking out over time. easy rebuild
