So far I have been impresses with the Ecoboost. Great option if you don't need a Super Duty. At least you will still have a direct injected turbo charged engine that hauls.

If I were to buy an F-150, which I'm not, but if I were I would go with the 5.0 V8 over the Eco-Boost. I think the Eco-Boost should stay in the Taurus.

How close have you looked at the ecoboost? They kick the V8's butt. KEM has some wicked tuning for it. you would be impressed.
I want a 500 ci V8 that gets 8 mpg with no emissions on it. <- That could make 120 hp vs the Eco Boost 350hp and I would be fine with it. I want simple. I'll stick with a traditional V-8 in a truck, or maybe an old I-6.
From Demolition Man: "I'm the kind of guy who likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I WANT high cholesterol. I wanna eat bacon and butter and BUCKETS of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-o all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiener".
The main reason I was shopping at all was the F250 was rusting, I considered repairing, but here in the salty winters I felt I would be throwing good money away.
I researched the whole Ford lineup including diesel's, I felt given my needs the eco would do everything I need, also the cost to maintain the diesel was annoying.
I own a 1987 turbo coupe, purchased new, stored winters with 104,000 miles, I've never touched the engine/turbo,along with the turbo on 7.3, so I really don't consider owning a turbo an issue
I signed today, truck will get paint-rust-soundproof-interior protection package Monday, I will pick it up Tuesday night
Jc I was running turbocharged 2.3 litre ford powered sand rails in the 70's when a Toyota didn't last through it's warranty! Chevrolet offered the Corvair with a turbo option in the early 60's, Boeing installed turbocharged Wright Cyclone engines on the B-29 in 1944 ^so don't tell us the Japanese enthusiasts were the first to use them that's Bravo Sierra!

Yep, had a Corvair Spyder...I think it was 1966 or so.
