Ok, the Truck is a friends of mine, he ruined the engine by not changing the oil on a regular base's, and well it was all gummed up with carbon and crap.
The truck is a 98 model f150 4x4, and it has the 4.2, the engine I took out had aluminum heads, or at least they looked that way, the engine was covered in gunk.
He paid 2000.00 for a newly rebuilt block, I think they sent the wrong year engine to him, one. it has iron heads, two. the windage tray doesn't fit, 3 the intake doesn't cover the back of the block, there is a hole where the back of the intake is, pictures follow of the new engine.
Can anyone tell me the year of this block or what is a easy fix so he doesn't have to drive all the way back to KY from TN to exchange blocks?
What did you ever find out about this?
The reason I ask is that I'm wondering if I could put some of those cast iron heads on an application that now has aluminum.
