vacuum problems
when i switch to 4 high my A/C switches to defrost. i switch back to 2wd then have to put it in reverse to get it to switch back. could this have anything to do with the brake booster? I've also had problems with calipers locking up. i'm in the process of changing 5th caliper in a year, i'm also changing all hoses on the rear. the calipers only lock up one at a time. i use permatex lube on the sliders.

You have a vacuum leak. Check the hoses in your wheel wells. Chances are they are shot. Replace these, it costs about $2 at autozone. Just have them cut you some new hose.

Chances are your vacuum valve for the 4 wheel drive is shot. It's on the passenger side right behind the battery, has a white top, an electrical plug and a vacuum plug. Check your vacuum hoses from the hubs back, if they are good, replace the vacuum valve. $83 from the dealer, part number 7C3Z-9H465A.
