found this on CL and was interested in it just because of price and miles. But i do have concerns about the '85 thin block by the block heater. what do you guys think? pull the trigger on it? or pass because of the block? thanks
If it was me I'd be calling about the transmission and gearing. And obviously you're taking his word that it's 169K and not 269K...
Plus it says 2,000 OBO, so offer 1700 and see if he bites...
Oh I forgot to ask, why don't you have a working truck anymore? I thought you had a turbo setup and everything?
i talked to him and he said it belonged to some old guy, who wasnt allowed to drive....then when he past gave it to his kid who didnt use it so this guy got it just for towing a boat...that he doesnt really use...he said paint is original other then the bumper/grille
so i just took it about 100 mi round trip. with the factory turbo and crushed downpipe with completely stock ip/injectors/timing it felt a bit underpowered compared to mine. that wont last long timing needed advanced about 2dimes width but other then that it drove great.
sounds like a keeper.what ya gunna do with it though?
is this going to be your main DD for fuel economy i mean, and you'll keep the lifted truck for more rec use.......or your just becoming an idi addict?
did you get another auto,or is this one a manual?
