running hot and thin

Hey guys,

Truck running hot (still in normal range but upper ½) and oil pressure drops to below normal when all warmed up and at idle (pressure good when driving).

Related???

Newer coolant and thermostat is working... lazy water pump??

Any ideas?

Thanks!

when hot check lower rad hose. the pump might be able to suck it in to collapse the
hose.
does the lower hose have a wire spring in it? it should help the lower hose keep from
collapsing in.

just a thought.

when engine is at temp feel the radiator for cold spots. well not even temp across the
core. if it has hot and cool or warm spots the radiator core could be clogged in spots.
if it is the stock radiator it can get calcium type build up and clog the coolant flow
from top to bottom of radiator. causing the hot or cold spots.

You really need to install a set of aftermarket gauges to accurately monitor the engines vitals, in all honesty the factory gauges are pretty much worthless for anything other than a "guesstimate" of actual engine conditions.
