I don't like this either. My two cents.

Easy to ignore. Actually as much discussion as there is about zinc in oil, it's probably pertinent to our trucks. More so than ads for Chevy trucks

I find it ironic that STP, who paid heavy fines levied by the FTC for false advertising, is now forcing its advertising via posts in the FTE forum.

My favorite STP commercial was made in the early sixties. Andy Granatelli, then CEO of STP, had Rocky Marciano try and hold onto a screwdriver shaft that was dipped in STP. The stuff was so slippery that the Champ couldn’t keep a grip; scientific proof for most consumers.

Next up on the unwanted post agenda - Marvel Mystery Oil!

STP is a forum sponsor, that's why they are there.

Just like those plastic gears on the counter at NAPA, with Lucas Oil Treatment in them. I've had more than one person say "Look -- you can see it works!"

I like the coupon idea.

Adblock / Flash block...

I am not a subscriber.
I am using firefox 3.62
I have adblock add on installed (fanboy subscription + 1 custom rule for facebook connect)
I have flashblock add on installed

Ok so I got the email a while back ago and deleted it.. At the posting of this I wondered what the fuss was. Switched to 2nd machine (1st machine at work is slaughtered busy) and saw what the fuss is, with my 3 piece combo I am not seeing the ad at all - on a bone stock machine I see it. Rather than whine, why not put the advertising block applications in place and have a super slick super fast site - absolutely no sluggshiness, tell the advertisers what you think not by whining (pointless), but by boycotting the ad. Don't see it, don't know about it, not SLOWED down by it.

I'm fine with whining, I even do it myself - my point is stick the advertisers in their place on ignore list.

just my $0.02

brain75, if I had even the slightest idea what you are talking about, I would probably do it.

ZMax is wayyy better, at least that's what Carroll Shelby says

You'd be better off throwing your $5 into a wishing well than buying any of these type products. Octane Booster, fuel system cleaner, carbon buildup removal etc. It's all bogus. Just search on youtube, and you will find some scientific, and some not so scientific tests on just about all of them that prove them worthless.

I'm at work and about 45 minutes from finishing the day, but for the benefit of everyone I will post a quick how to later (probably tomorrow). I hate advertising, I hate advertising even worse when I pay to avoid it (FTE basically lost my donation I was going to make when members mentioned they still see ads).

Especially for the paying members I would be glad to help them block ads.

Just give me time to put together all the screenies and I will post.

Back in 1969 we were hearing so much about and how good STP is and all the reasons why to use it. I started using it in my 67 Firebird and it promptly ruined my motor. My engine builder said it was the STP. It burned the pistons. I swore I would never use it again and I haven't and that was a long time ago. Yep, and the adds for it on here really irritate me.

IMO they should buy banner space, and stop creating posts in the forums. You can block the banner ads if you know how, but you can't ignore the first 2 sticky posts at the top.
