Yeah someone could design one, but really do you think there is enough of a market to be able to compete with the guys who already make them? I mean how many Bronco's did they build each year?

Skyler doesn't require any drilling i don't know if i neglected to mention it but it makes it very clear on the web page. Thats why i was getting at the fact that they should make the full top that doesn't require drilling into the body.
I was looking at Tazmainian broncos post. He mentioned drilling thats what I why i was asking. I want a soft top for this summer, a skyler would be nice but it doesn't look like tey will be open agian any time soon. So I will settle for the STC i guess.
Waterproofed canvas. Tent and awning companies carry it.
Considering that everyone and their grandmother makes some type of soft top for the early Bronco, I would think that the market for the big Bronco tops would be, or at least could be, as great or greater since the early body style was only built for 11 years and the big Bronco body was around for the remaining 19 years. Keeping in mind that the big Bronco is aging now and becoming available to people with, shall we say more common income levels, the demand for aftermarket items to make these vehicles "unique" in some way will most likely increase. Most original purchasers of the big Bronco were buying it because they could afford it and it was something of a status symbol. New, these trucks tipped the monetary scales on the pricey side. Now that their value is declining, the rush to grab them by people willing to keep them nice and spend the money to make them "their own" will increase just as the early Bronco did.
This is all just speculation but, there may be money to be made in the marketing and production of quality aftermarket products for the big Bronco.
If I may be so rude as to acknowledge that the full size Blazer (K-5) is in the same general catagory and that it has many loyal owners as well, anyone working towards a soft top idea could easily modify the design so as to make such a top available for both vehicles.

does anyone who has a softtop have pictures. I positive I am going to get one, now i can't pick a color. I want to see how the colors look on some trucks thanks guys
Two models with roll-up sides, didn't see anything specifically for Bronco, but did see one for the other B-word.
Does soft-top.com = STC?
Haven't installed 'em, haven't seen 'em live, haven't heard anything about them - just stumbled across them on another search.
Anyone who converts must post photogs. Inspire the rest of us, please.
BTW - there are rollbars that fit into the late model Broncs. Looks like you could attach the shoulder harness for the seatbelt there. Bronco graveyard has one that is supposed to fit up to 91, but we all know that means it fits the later models - they just aren't supposed to tell us that.
STC stands for Specialty Top Company. Looking at buying one of there tops this summer and will post pics (in progress). Colors should match original top colors. I have a tan top, and called the guy, he said the spice color should match perfectly. I am with all you guys, there should be a lot more competition for late model tops, all there is is the STC and Skyler tops. I wonder how they hold up as far as leaks though?
A thread from late last week/early this week that discussed chopping an old hard top ($300 Bronco Graveyard) to have support for the back window and a place for the seatbelt shoulder straps to connect (with photoshop image of what it might look like).
Yeah, the softtop in the photo is a Kayline(I believe). Not to difficult to put on.Mine has been put on every April and taken off every October for the last 4 years. No leaks at all.The support rails are 7 pieces.2 run from the center top, around the arch and down to the side.2 more run to mid way down the side,2 more to the end,1 on the tailgate. The top comes with the snaps installed. The rails do not. That's so after laying out and installing the rails(take your time here)you can drill and install 1 snap at a time, alternating from side to side to keep it straight and tight.
FYI-trash the hardware(screws for the rails) that comes with the kit and get all Stainless Steel. And give the rails a good coat of a rustproof paint. These tops are way cool!1 reason I got the Bronco.
Good Luck

B.T.W. Does anyone know where to get an auxillary water/fuel container(like the 1 in the picture) to attach to the tailgate or spare tire mount?

I really like the CanBack tops... but they dont list any for Broncos and I am wondering why they dont make one that will seal off the cab! That would rock. I love the idea of rollin up the sides and then having a roofrack on there!
