my sending unit is going bad i think, it will run for awhile and then cut off i can hear the sending unit running all the time from inside the truck. i guess when it gets hot it will shut down the flow of gas thanks
For the fuel line removal you'll need a fuel line tool. It's a like a collar that you push inside the connector to expand the retaining ring. Advance Auto has one I got for my tank removal.
Which tank? Forward or rear? Here's my experience with the forward tank. Disconnect the filler hose from the filler door. My F350 has a metal shield between the drive shaft and tank. Remove that. If you lower the tank 6 or 8 inches you can then tilt it to starboard and access the filler hose clamp. Remove that and you'll have lots of play to work on the fuel line connections. Disconnect the wire-connector. Use the fuel line tool and disconnect them. Then drag the tank out from under the truck to be able to wrestle the old locking ring loose. After cleaning all the crud off, spray it down with PB Blaster or similar stuff. There's probably a tool made for these locking rings, but I just hammered off the old one because I had a new one.
Reinstallation is just the opposite.
