converting hubs

Hi, I have an 84 3/4 ton deisel. Its an automatic, and the hubs are automatic as well. I'd like to change these to locking manual hubs so I can disengage the hubs when hot using 4X4. I am not very mechanically inclined, so I was hoping someone here could let me in on what is involved to make this switch?? Is it complicated and expensive or can it be done relatively cheap and easy?? I'm guessing I'll have to change the hubs and the transfer case??? Thanks for any info.
Chris

if you look around your auto hubs and ya have allen head screws, ya in luck it's a simple swap. just get a set of lockin hubs ya like and swap in. nothing extra needed. now if your auto lockers isn't that way then you'll need a kit. hubs run anywhere from $40 to $80 a set depending on brand. if you need the adt. kit it runs lil over $100 plus hub cost

forgot to add all thats needed to install them is a allen wrench, (snap ring too) if ya got it, i use a small screw driver and about 10mins on your time to emove and reinstall both hubs. your new hubs will come with step; by step info.. it's a piece of cake to do.
