Here goes the rant:
Well guys, i finally sold my 1990 IDI a few weeks ago, and have been looking for my powerstroke since then and months before that. So far I've only found about 2 F350 CC/LB 5spds SRW's without a flat bed and less than 250k+ on them in all of C.A. and they got taken before i could take a look. Its driving me nuts! Ive even been looking in nevada, Orgeon, Arizona, Washington, and still not many worth going that far for. While i had my IDI, awsome trucks like what i want were a dime a dozen on Craigslist and other places and now i cant find any So if any of you happen to stumble apon one, hollar at me! Alright, im done.
You're looking for the most desirable model out there... be prepared to pay up. I gave $9500 for mine this spring with 153k miles and bone stock. If I hadn't there were 3 other guys right behind me waiting to jump.
Thats about what im looking to spend. No mare than 10 but i dont expect to get one for less than 8. Ive got the money, i just cant find one. Thats the part thats buggin me haha.
Ive been lookin out in TX too. I see lots, only problem is my crappy work schedual. I have no problem going that far but I have to take the time off a week out and it would suck if the guy sold it before i could drive out there.

So you find one you think you like, then you post here, in the 99-03 7.3 section as well as in the Texas chapter and see if you can find a local member to check it out for you. Then you tell the guy to hold it or whatever till your schedule clears.
I've checked out a few trucks for members, and even had a guy here check out my wife's truck down in Austin before I drove down myself to see it.
I feel your pain,3 months of ebay and being in Illinios the only fodder around was texas, calif.,florida, basically 1000m in any direction, but have hope,a neighbor let me buy his that wasnt even for sale, pestering daily helps,+ telling them they need a NEW truck not this "old beater",I laughed as I drove away with title few days later.
What do yall think of this one? Its right in my area, about 15 mins. The only thing that stand out is the high miles, but if everything runs fine and no/minimal leaks, no white smoke, hard start, etc, its safe to assume its a good motor right?
15 minutes away, get over there and check it out! Miles depends on previous maintenence of course. If its been taken care of, should be just fine. Check it out good.
Well, I called the guy and I'm going to go look at it Friday. He said the only problem it has is that it's throwing a CEL due to the glow plug relay being broke, which he has but just hasnt replaced. He also has a 7.3 intercooler and spider, 17* SD HPOP, and SD turbo kit minus the passenger side manifold which he's throwing in at that price. Still concerned about the miles, but he said he's changed it every 3k, trans was replaced 60k ago. The coolant was changed 3 yes ago before he bought it.
