Thanks guys. Im headed off to my quarterly health coaching for work right now but I'll be back this afternoon to reveal a little about myself. Fordnut, where abouts is the cornfield you're from?
Crap. I just typed about a 1 page bio and my internet at the girlfriends house (or rather, her neighbor's internet) crashed. Luckily I copied it prior to submitting it so I saved it to a thumbdrive. Guess you'll have to learn my life story later bummer, huh?
Ok, I have a keyboard now so i dont have to type on my phone. Well Ill start by saying im happy to by a member of yet another ford forum. I may be new here but Im not new to forums. I also currently belong to allfordmustangs.com, theturboforums.com, fordification.com from when i had my '69 F100, sbftech.com, thefiringline.com for my gun fetish, and others that I dont really visit anymore. I've been infatuated with ford trucks for as long as I can remember, and in love with mustangs since about middle school.
My current truck is actually my first vehicle I "owned". It's changed hands between my mom and I several times during high school and through my career life. Finally I drove it from Wyoming to here, and hopefully it's here to stay. In between I've had a '93 escort GT, '90 Cherokee, '90 Mustang 5.0, '02 Grand Cherokee (rip), '03 Explorer (good riddance), '69 F-100 4x4, '88 t-bird turbocoupe, and now an '09 Fusion, '79 Yamaha XS750 special, and my '88 F-150 4x4 300-6 5sp is back. The ONLY non stock item on the truck is a pretty sweet 5th wheel tailgate I made in high school (even though it doesn't have a 5th wheel hitch). I mainly think it's so cool because I took great care in cutting out the oval ford emblem with a plasma cutter.
Let's see... I enlisted in the Marines out of high school. I was an anti-tank assaultman, Nuke security guard, Designated Marksman on a close quarters battle team, and a mobile patrol team member in Iraq. Spent some time as an exterminator, and now Im a Sheriffs Deputy in _____ County. You'll just have to guess where. Lol. Dont worry, I consider myself to be one of the "cool" ones. By that I dont mean Im cool per say. Im just not a dick. It takes a lot to get ticketed by me. Otherwise that would make me a giant hypocrite.
Oh, I'm a happily divorced father of two beautiful girls, ages 1 and 4.
Whoo. and that took about two days to type. Questions?
Okay, first question.....Your first name, so we know who we're talking to! Are you originally from Wyoming? I lived in Cheyenne for a year, and Lander for two, moved back my sophomore year of high school. Oh, and where do you live?
I lived near Fargo till I was 4, then moved to Belle Fourche, SD for a couple of years, then lived near Aladdin, WY while I went to elementary school in Sundance. Then back up to ND for high school in a town called Kindred, near fargo. Then about 35 places while in the Marines, and finally ended here in Bellevue.
I saw someone in here from VA beach. I went to two different schools near there in the marines. Cool place
Tyler, good to meet you. How long were you in the Corps? I was Navy, 85-89, worked on A-7E corsairs. My day was in the Marines, did 35 years, mostly in the reserves.
Damn, you've been all over! Shawn is from VA beach. He wanders in now and then. I think he was just over in the BS thread.
