I was driving home today and was at a stop light, truck had warmed up (EOT around 200, ECT around 188). When the light turned green I held on the gas (not WOT), I looked at my SGII and my boost was around 28 and my EGR valve was at 100, I show the EGR to how far my EGR valve is open/closed, usually I see around 37 to 41. I could hear my turbo spinning up and saw a little black smoke out of the rear, but didn't hear the turbo fully kick in.
I'll be getting the gaskets for the EGR valve Friday and clean the valve again, just to see how bad it might be.
I'll also be getting the coolent flushed, thermostat changed the week after before I really say the oil cooler/EGR cooler might be bad, since I've seen over 15* delta on the highway the most I've seen is around 25* delta.
When I got home I let the truck sit and run for around 5 mintues to let everything cool down, when I turned the truck off I heard what sounded like bearings turning, I opened the hood and heard the noise around the turbo which I think was the turbo blades spinning down, I also heard what was liquid draining which I think was the oil draining from the turbo, cause it sounded like it was from that area.
When I do my next oil change I will be draining the HFCM and then chaning both of the fuel filters and of course oil/filter and checking the air filiter.
I checked it a Saturday, everything seemed fine, of course I could feel some oil residue on the impellers. At some point I will be taking the turbo out and doing cleaning just to confirm everything is fine. Especially since this is a used F350 and since I don't know how well the previous owner serviced the vehicle.
