I was returning from the weekend and the radio, was showing the time, end suddenly shoot off the numbers and no radio or any function, only a little lite in the "****"of the little arrow of advance is on.
Any ideas, I havent check any fuses or anything yet. Just arrived and went to work. The OBD port works.
BTW I was reading in the scan gauge : 1850~ IPC and 35%~ DC, at about 1800-200 RPM and 45 MPH, its that correct?
Who needs a radio, just roll down the windows and listen to the turbo spin. No seriously, I don't know any think about the radio. Mine works and thats all I know.
The ICP and DC varies alot depending on load, etc. But what you say sounds about right.

Glenn, Thank you, but I dont like the turbo spin so I put my radio noisy. LOL
Maybe some one else chime in here about the ICP and DC, it was with a 7000 pounds of load (my TT)

Good idea, thank you for the input, and what I do with the hole in the dash for the radio?
Jose if all your fuses are good and the connections behind the radio are good then I would say that it's time for a new one
You are not going to believe me but I havent had time to check the fuses, but I will soon, and yes maybe you are right, Ill need a new one.
BTW is it easy to change the radio for a new one?, do you have any special tips? and what kind or radio would be better? I know it depends of the price but I have to find one with special characteristics?
An aftermarket radio fits very well. I pulled my AM/FM and put in a Sony CD unit. I had the Sony in a dead CIVIC, and it's all that was worth keeping after a bit of a timing belt failure.
I purchased the lil' special tools that get used to remove the Ford radio, but I'm sure there are several ways around needing them.
I also purchased a wire harness adapter. Made the Sony a plug and play after a bit of crimping and soldering.
Two more speakers from Wal-Mart for the rear and I had a 4 speaker system. The wires were already there in the rear cab corners.
The Sony cage fit the dash opening just fine, I'm quite pleased.
I'm tempted to pull the radio and try putting in a Taurus/Sable 92-95 DIN cup holder in it's place. The Crew cab, bench seat combo doesn't leave much of a way to carry coffee. And I need coffee WAY more than tunes.

Harold, thank you for the input. I have a kit with the special tools, Im going to try to work with the radio maybe tomorrow or next saturday, Im going to look for a Sony CD unit. I have now a separated CD player under the middle seat.
You can pull the unit w/o the special U clips if you are patient...two scribes, doing one side at a time will usually work fine. Nothing needed for reinstall.
Our would randomly die and then come on again when we got it. Popped it out and sprayed the connector halves with contact cleaner, reseated them a couple times, and have never had an issue yet. Based on your description (non-standard illumination pattern on the face) it may be best to find another one, especially if you like the idea of the integrated CD player.
