Went to the drive in last night. Watched the new mutants and Bill & Ted. I was confused by the new mutants. When it finally got good, the movie just ended. I'm not sure why or how they tie into the rest of the x men movies. Bill and Ted was decent. I was curious to see how Keanu could go back to that role after so many action and drama movies.
I loved bill and ted :-) although I don't think it was as good as the first one :-) I saw the adds for the mutants-- it looked more like a creepy movie than anything.-- but I will probably watch it when it is available for streaming--- Speaking of that-- Disney released Mulan- and it was available for streaming the same day!-- It was 25 bucks BUT that is cheaper then my family of 3 going to the theater-(with pop corn and everything) - I saw they did that with bill and ted as well--- I bet all new movies will be that way --
I watched Due Date with Zack Galifinakis and Robert Downey Jr. . It was somewhat similar to Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, but with a modern twist. I liked it. It was Zack playing basically the same character as he did in The Hangover.
I hate it when a movie is made but it doesn't follow the past story line of a character--- We all know superman was born on krypton-- but some versions of movies say he wasn't--- for example. I started watching an Iron man cartoon with Calista and it didn't follow the iron man origin story at all-- I didn't finish it. Gas monkey garage kind of did the same thing- it started out about being about cars Richard and the great bearded on built then boom I watched a new episode-- and it wasn't even about Richard he was barely there-- It wasn't about the car either-- it was about a bunch of dumb a$$es goofing off because Richard wasn't even there--- and if I just paid $60k on a car then saw what they did to it during the show I would want my money back! Orange county choppers started all this car show- build this crap and then wrecked it with all the drama-- even dirt every day is changing lately. Mats recovery has gotten a bit stale but I watch the new episodes. I guess this whole post is a rant about what I don't like--- HUH What a bunch of SHLT :-)
For automotive entertainment I stick with all the MotorTrend originals like Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Hot Rod Garage, and Engine Masters. I'll watch Dirt every Day, but for some reason Fred and Dave's characteristics just don't jive with me so I don't really enjoy it that much. I watch all these on the MotorTrend App which is $5 a month and is the best paid streaming content we have at the house IMO. They even have a ton of other automotive shows that are interesting, but I barely have time to watch the latest releases of my favorite shows listed above.
Unfortunately I've grown to despise the "gotta get this car done in THREE DAYS or we're gonna lose the shop!?!?!??!" drama-filled shows that seem to be prevalent EVERYWHERE (like the ones you mentioned Chad). There is minimal coverage on the project, all the focus is on the script and fake tension-building scenarios. Guess I'll just be thankful I have content to view that completely fits my taste
I am one of the few people who never paid for motertrend on demand I guess.. I watch the series AWAY where these people go to mars-- it was a drama filled soap opera-- but it had a few good space things every episode. I hope they make season 2.
On Tuesday, I watched "The Frozen Ground" with Nicholas Cage and John Cusack. It was pretty intense. Turns out to be "Hollyweird's version" of a true story about a serial killer in Alaska in the late 70s and 80's.
It was pretty good!
Right now I am watching "Adrift" about a girl who met a guy with his own sail boat, and they hook up and she plans to sail the world with him. They get asked to sail a friend's sailboat back home for them and fly back to his personal sailboat. They get caught in a hurricane, and well.. You gotta watch the rest. Julie and I saw it in a theater, but it was worth watching again.
THat's funny Carolyn and I watch adrift last night- I watched the frozen ground quite awhile ago-- liked both. THe part in adrift about eating raw fish-- yuck.
I fished Adrift last night during plasma and had to start something else, so started watching the "Challenger's Last Flight" Its a pretty cool documentary.

That one caught my eye too, I'm hoping to fit that in sometime soon! I'm a sucker for documentaries though, lol.
