Dreaded Death Wobble
Dreaded Death Wobble
Hey guys I have a 92 f150 with 78 f150 9 inch rear end and 78 f150 straight axle in the front. It has a 6" suspension lift. I just replaced all tie rods and wheel bearing in the front. truck goes down the road smooth until I slow down to about 15 -20 mph then i get the death wobble until I get below 15 then it stops. I have a twin shock steering stabilizer and a 6" drop pitman arm on it. What could be causing the wobble. Ball joints are good and tight. The tires aren't the greatest but I can't imagine they would cause wobble. Any idea's? Thanks
Are the wheels balanced? Why the 9"? I assume its a manual trans since theres no VSS on a 9" Did you do the SAS? You may need to ask in the SAS section over on FBS. If the drag link and trac bar aren't done right on the swap it will cause issues.
Did you check the obvious, i.e. Lugs are tight, no play in steering gear box, warped rotors, no frame issues. Has the truck been aligned by a shop?
