I am thinking about doing a flat bed on my truck. I have a couple drawings in mind. I was just thinking if anyone had done it or had a comment about this. Im all ears.

Don't attach it 5 on six places on each side like the original bed was. Ur make the frame back there to ridged and it will break right after the cab.
Best way to attach a flat bed is on the side of the frame in holes that already exsist in pickup frame.

I am thinking about making it 2-3inches wider than the current bed now. The only reason I am wanting to do it, is because my bed is beat to ****. A replacement bed from a junk yard is $400 and they don't look much better.

I would do it myself if it came to it. I would suggest adding some type of grate or protection for the back window that you can see through being incorporated, and maybe some type of removable bed sides. Do you have a need to transport any ATVs or small equipment? Maybe making up some type of ramp system would be a cool idea as well. Some tie-down hooks inside the wood planks in the floor could come in handy. Also, some tool boxes that would attach to the bottom of the bed and could be accessible from the sides would be sweet. Trickiest part in my mind is mounting the fuel filler necks and figuring out how to make them work the best.

If you get a chance, take a look at some other flat bed trucks and you'll get a lot of ideas

I have it figured to make the headache rack built in. I am not going to be hauling any ATV's but i will put tie down hooks in it. I don't know where i stand on tool box's but they can be added after its done.
