I have a 96 Explorer. I know I blew the JBL sub in the back. Any easy ways to to take the panel off to access it? I do not want to spend a lot of money to fix it. I was told by a car audio store that if I replace the sub I will need to buy a new amp and everything. I don't want to do that, I just want to get ahold of another JBL so I can make an even switch. If I can't do that I want a simple and cheap (less than $100) fix. Any ideas?!? Please Help!
basically ford's famous plastic speed screws take on a whole new look for this one. i pulled on mine so hard i broke more than a few of em. i used black metal screws to hold the cover back on and it looks a little but cooler, i think. but really no way to do it unless you pull the whole side trim pannel off. which requires removal of seatbelts and about 10 or so screws on a 2 door, not sure for a 4 door. but yank carefully if you choose to pull it off it aint easy.
GOOD LUCK!
