Two issues, first, after injector cup replacement I am running with water to purge the diesel from the water jacket. The serge tank is running clean now after many flushes. but I am loosing water. Nothing on the ground, nothing in the cab under the heater core and nothing on the hood insulator. No water in oil. Its got me stumped ?? A few weeks back I started a thread about an odor in the cab that was like anti-freeze ( but I am running water) the suggestion was that it was my cigarette smoke , and it might be. The next issue is the A/C clutch stays on. Can I just unplug it till I do the shim kit?
Thanks guys!
How much water are you losing? How often and how much do you add? I had a slow leak on my truck when I first got it and the water was evaporating from the heat and never made it to the ground, but was having to add small amounts.
Unplugging the a/c clutch won't hurt a thing. If it stays on after the plug is pulled, then you have an issue that needs attention.
The clutch disengages after I unplug it.
It seems to me that there is an in line heater hose valve or deflector/gate or something like that , that should be replaced after a cup job? I lost all most all of the water in the serge tank in a 350 mile run . The temp. gage was normal temp. After cleaning and drying I started the motor and let it warm to running temp and looked for the steam trail. didn't find one. I did see rust on top of the frame rail under the ac tubes, thinking that came from the condensation drip. tkns
