I Am So Smart
I feel great. After months trying to find which of the ten cylinders was not firing on my 1999 V10, I solved it today. My first move was pick up a mechanics stethoscope and check the plastic on each injector. Each one had a solid click. Next I tried disconnecting each ignition coil and watch for drop in RPMs. I found that was really hard to do so I switched to unplugging injectors. After 8 tries I found one that did not change the RPMs. Replugging the injector I pulled the coil and installed a new one. That was it and wouldn't you know it, it was #5 clear in the back.
