Base Line Dyno run on the PRE-STROKE
#46
I am thinking of sending a 2.3 ford cam to delta to have them regrind it. A guy I know online just had one done for like 80.00 and it looked really good. What all would you have to do to build a 6.9 up. I know a guy that has a truck with a 6.9 and has a 7.3idi he was thinking of swapping into it. Is the 6.9 better for power. He wants something close to what a 03 to 07 5.9 cummins has. Should have taken my truck to the dyno event Gonna have something to dyno come spring though. Need to hang out again dustin. Been working on something, but I am behind due to working in north dakota.

Delta does good work, Ive had several cams done by them, including a 2.3 roller cam. I wouldnt hesitate one second to use them for any grind.
As far as the 6.9 vs 7.3 goes... There is some trade offs, especially with a stock type Turbo setup (ATS, Banks, Hypermax, Etc)... Head bolts are 7/16" on a 6.9 and 1/2" on the 7.3... As long as you run studs overtorqued, you shouldnt have a problem with the 6.9, and you get the benefit of thicker cylinder walls. But a 7.3 has a bit more displacement, and makes a bit more torque.
A step sleeved 7.3 block would be the best of both worlds...
