Performance chips

I just saw a bunch of ebay ads for performance chips that say you can get up to 50 HP gain and 5 MPG more. The chips are in the $30 range. Anyone ever try them?

My .02... I bought an Edge programmer ($350) before i found this amazing site, and it didn't work with my truck. Called the customer support and they said, well you must have the IDI, because they don't have computers. If it's not working then your truck isn't a Powerstroke. ABSOLUTE IDIOCY!!! (sorry, small rant) Point being, if it's not produced by the sponsors of this website (like DPTuner or Beans) then it's probably cause it sucks. From everything i've seen, you can't expect to get any real power from tunes for less than $300-400 (unless you get just one tune... who does that???? lol)
