2006 fx4 problems
Hi all,
I am looking at purchasing a 2006 crew cab 4x4 and wondering if there are any issues that I should look out for. It also has the 5.4.
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!

Well if its an early 2006 the cam phasers had not fully been worked out yet so that is one thing to check into and then the plugs where still an issue but thats been pretty much fixed and are not much to worry about anymore.
I have a 2006 Fx4 and have had no issues with it since buying it. I bought it in 2008 with 25k on it and now have about 78k. I have done the routine stuff and did some brake work but other then that no problems for me to report.

thanks for the reply.
So by researching the problem here on the site it sounds like the engine would have a loud ticking something like a diesel? Also is there a way to know better if it is the cam phaser or the VCT solenoid?
What was the issue with the plugs?
