White is unburnt fuel caused by bad timing.

Black is unburnt fuel caused by to much fuel to air mixture. Like a gasser running rich.

Has the fuel been turned up any on the injector pump?

x2 on the injector pump, black smoke can also mean that your air filter is clogged or something...

I had brought my truck to a local mechanic and i think thats what he did to compensate for the dirty filter. when i removed the filter it was black sludge. i dont know where or how to re-adjust ?

Thanks!! In-advance

An update on my 1994 f-350 7.3l diesel turbo, with the fuel adjustment proplem. After reading the post left on my comments, it was mentioned to check the air intake and I had just replaced the air filter the day before. On this year model it take the flat square filter with the foam filter as a separte piece.I think you can see where this is going, yea I put the foam piece on top and it sucked it into my turbo causing a blockage to say the least. So I simply removed it and it runs like new.
