Hello
Here are a few of th latets pics with everything stripped but the bare cab.
I have been reading of a few guy's installing the rear IRS from the NM12 chasis cars and I have the complete Mark VIII that I will be using for the drive train so I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the IRS being used. The Lincons have aluminum lower controll arms as well as aluminum diff's so I thinkk it would look pretty cool and looks staright forward. If there is anyone that has done the swap I would be real interested in your driving experience with it, I know the cars drive great.
Thank you
Drew

I was able to get the whole suspention front and rear removed.
Also found some time to strip the Mark VIII that I bought and removed the entire drive train. I stripped the rear IRS and blasted the whole thing and replaced a few bushings that were worn out. Then painted the whole assembly. I also blasted and clear coated the aluminum pieces which I think turned out great. I have a few pieces to patch on the rear from where the original spring mounts were. Hopefully I should have the brackets from Team 321 to mount the IRS in the truck this week.
I also just picked up the front suspention. Chassis Engineering bolt in Mustang II IFS. Got it off a budy that had it in another project he was working but has decided to put it off.
So my plan is to put the Mark VIII motor and trans in but I also just saw that Ron Francis makes a engine harness now for the 3.8 Thunderbird SC motor. I know a lot about these motors and how easily it is to make good power with them. I know most guy's are spooked about he head gasket issue with those motors but it's a real easy thing to control and I actually had my SC make 380rwhp with considerable ease. What are some of your thoughts on putting the SC motor in an old truck. Blower wine would be neat!
Anyway here are a few pictures of my progress so far.
Thank you
Drew

You'll find lots of experts full of great information. I too am trying to decide on an engine and transmission for my new restoration. Good luck, looking forward to following your restoration.
