Thumbs up Can't explain this...... Fluidampr works!

Last Tuesday I replaced my waterpump, lpop, and installed a Fluidampr on my truck with the help of Mark (Tailgate77478). Thanks Mark! I had been seeing a slightly rough idle at times and the Cylinder Contrbution Test on my Aerforce Interceptor gauge would throw codes for cylinders #2 & #7, or just one or the other, after the test. I didn't run the Rotational Velocity %'s on my AE to verify those cylinders, but "got around" to doing it yesterday. After replacing the lpop with a Melling M-208 and installing the Fluidampr, I was no longer getting the codes on the Aeroforce gauge after the CCT and the idle was noticably smoother. I don't have the "before" %'s, but here are a few pics of the "after".

All I can say is, something about the 2 changes definitely made the difference and I'm glad I did them.

An aftermarket crankshaft harmonic balancer, or "damper" as it's called. http://www.fluidampr.com/

The Melling M-208 lpop is a higher volume replacement oil pump also.
Still trying to understand this myself. Can't figure out which would have affected the Rotational Velocity %'s the most.

And that would seem to make the most sense. Just wasn't expecting it that much of a difference at idle.

X2. I've been thinking about a new damper myself.

Think about what the effect of balancing has on any rotating mass. That's the answer.

Now, I need to run an ICP test to see if there has been any benefits of the HV lpop on pressure at full load.

I don't know Roland but if you can get any more proof that this Melling LPOP and Fluiddampener HB cured some of your issues its a win win here and for Clay sales wise . Another on my list want.

It is amazing that the dampner actually will make the engine slightly quieter. I noticed it quite a bit on mine.

Clay would be the best guy to get it all from!

Hmmm...interesting. Haha My next purchase is an AE plain and simple. I need to know this kind of data.

I ran a few ICP 60-90mph test runs in 140 Extreme and Aggressive tunes on the way home tonight. I monitored the ICP and ICP Duty Cycle % with my Aeroforce Interceptor. I was running about 200* EOT at the time. My ICP seems to be unchanged. I will datalog my runs again, with the AE, to better analyze the data. I kind of figured any excess low pressure oil volume would dump at the reservoir and wouldn't be helping any unless the HPOP was already starving for oil.
The main reason I changed the LPOP is that I wanted a new front seal (the new pump comes with one) and with the miles I have it wouldn't hurt to replace the oil pump while the damper was off.
