sorry if this question has been asked before but i haven't seen anything like it
i've been told the sct livewire is very good, but are there any others,
what are the best for torque/horsepower,fuel economy,or price.
any suggestions would be great, thanks.
The SCT tuning platform/software is very good for the 6.0 engine. The SCT XCal2 and 3 are very good tuning devices. The SCT livewire is a piece of junk.

Avoid the LiveWire. If you want to go that route, might want to look into the TSX that SCT has.
TQ/HP will depend on who is writing your custom tunes for the most part.
I wouldn't be all that concerned with fuel economy as these are performance enhancing devices first and foremost. If you get better economy, great, that's a bonus, but I wouldn't buy a programmer with that at the forefront of my mind.
Price will depend on what is it worth to you. What features do you want and how much are you willing to spend for those features. What fits my budget and gives me the most benefit for what I'm paying may or may not be the same as it is for you.
say whaaaat? the tunes are custom written, would that mean i would have to take my truck in?
Well for the best tuning possible, it would be best to take your truck in to be dyno tuned, but you don't have to do that.
You can have your SCT product read your truck's strategy, send that to the person that's going to write the tunes with a list of what tune(s) you want and they'll email you the tunes back.
As to the LiveWire, the biggest thing that I'm aware of is a series of screen issues. Screen freezes, won't turn on etc. They had supposedly fixed it at one time, but people were still having issues and SCT's fix was to have you send it in to them and they would send you another one. Which it could still happen with the new one as well. Since they came out with the TSX, I don't SCT would feel compelled to offer stellar support for the LiveWire with regard to this. However, it is still a 50/50 shot you would get a good one. If you want to take the risk, that's up to you. Personally, I would just do the X3(or equilivant) and get gauges seperately.
