Glow plug controller dead ?

I know there is a lot already about glow plugs and relays, but I just wanted a 2nd or 3rd ( or more ) opinion.

Being in the Great Britain I have very limited access to parts and pro's alike. 7.3 idi, 1990, E4OD pretty much stock ( apart from being a dually conversion ).

I bought a new glow plug relay and attached it to the original controller hoping I'd get my glow plugs working as they should, but the new relay has done nothing.

All GP's are tested fine, and the wiring is fine, but when the ignition goes on I'm getting 0 volts on the GP side of the relay ( but 11-12 on the hot side ).

Am I right in thinking the controller has probably died ?

I have a solenoid wired in at the moment for manual GP warming, no probs with it. But would still prefer original status for my old lady - thanks !

Check the black wire from the controler to see if it has a good clean connection to where it bolts to the block. These type of controlers are activated by ground. If you read threw the sticky at the top of the page for the 87-94 glowplugs, Dave has a good trouble shooting post there.
