1987 F250 ignition problems

I made a post and edited it out.
My words were not clear and I was trying to post from my phone while dealing with the fact that my power steering just failed.
If your distributor rotor does not wiggle in any direction and the pickup ohm's out within range then there are other possibilities.
But I would definitely be looking at all connections and cleaning them up before re-greasing them.
Disconnect the horseshoe adapter from the coil and read the voltage between the red terminal and ground with the ignition in the 'run' position.
Your coil sounds a little flaky to me.
I'm really no ignition expert.
Bill Vose (85lebaront2) might weigh in, as he ran a Carburetor & Ignition shop for years.
