Can anyone send me a picture where the coolant temperature sensor is located on my 1983 ford f150? It has a 5.8l and is a 4X4. Any help would be great.
I wish I could, but my engine is apart right now so there's nothing to take a picture of. However, the one on my '82 351W (5.8l) was on the driver's side front of the intake manifold. The sending unit is probably brass and sticks out of the manifold about an inch. It has a hex that will be down close to the manifold, and a stud sticking up that the wire attaches to. The factory wire has a right angle fitting on it and just pushes on the stud, although that may have been changed on yours.
soory not to hijack the thread but i noticed in ur pic that u have the factory throttle cable set up connected to ur holley did u have to make a bracket for that to work or did u use the factory bracket sorry its not related to the topic

It is a factory bracket, and it hooks right up. I have seen an identical bracket on a factory equipped 1984 F150 4bbl. My truck was however was produced with a 2bbl carb, so I do not know if the 2bbl used the exact same bracket; or if the guy that I bought the truck from took the bracket off of another truck. The picture is kind of dark, so it is kind of hard to see the actual bracket.
