I just clipped my 2008 F150's door chime wire (pink/black wire on the ignition switch) and after doing that the backlight bulb behind the odometer / temperature display won't work anymore. I don't think it's burnt out as it happened at the same time as clipping the wire (unless it shorted or something), but does anyone know what might be going on? I don't see why/how these should be connected but they must be...?
I read about someone having the same issue on another forum but I didn't see a resolution, so I'm hoping someone might have an idea.

welcome to fte. I hope somone can help you out, I can't. I do hate that dang door chime though.
The door chime wire is a ground wire. Door open contact, door closed no contact. Did the odometer light come back on when you spliced the wire back together? My light works when it wants to and I know it is not the bulb.
