Again as I am learning cant trust what I was told about it too much but he said it had a Jag front end... but I have no clue I know the springs were compressed to lower it. My step father in law works with one of the previous owners that put it together i thought then it went to his nephew then to a friend and now to me... but my father in law told me about the springs, front end and the body and front clips being 49 and 53 respectfully but in the short time of being on here I learned it is a lot more then that. So when I get it up here I will take more pics and add them so you can tell exactly what it is.. I appreciate all the advice and answers!
I believe the engine and tranny are worth the price relatively new vortec 350 and 700r it is going to be a stout little number when I get it running but as you can see that is going to take a whole lot of time and money.. both of which I am short of but it will provide something for me and my son to do together as he grows up and also for my dad and father in law all to have a hand in. I am really looking forward to it.. sure to get a ton of help here too. do you know what I can do as far as putting a column shifter for the trans? I would like to use the current column if it is possible havent found anything online about it.
Well that apears to be a later bed... No raised sides... The cab may have been bad on the '51 and one of them put a 48-49 (few 50's had the small rear window). You've teased us, we need more pics... Very cool....
Well I will be getting it on Sunday morning. Went today got some parts off a 51 he had in a field... Also picked up a floor shifter.. Now to get it up here and look into getting that tank fixed. It does not have a IFS like I was told. so I don't know why it is missing the front pieces. I am sure I will figure it out when I get it here and get to tearing it down a bit. Will have some pics Sunday for everyone to look at and tell me what is going on. Thanks for all the tips so far!
Got it late Saturday worked on it a little. Got the seat out and surprised to find most of the floor intact. The area where the battery is was gone and the tranny cover is missing completely but other then that looks good on the inside. The hood will eventually need to be replaced real thin in most places and the rust has eaten through a lot of it. We sanded down the front end and put a few coats of primer on it to hopefully hold off the rust until I can get in to get blasted in a month or so. I plan to do this to the rest of it as time permits. I know it is double work but I hope this will slow the rusting down a little and by some time till we can get it removed fully. I used rustoleum primer and put a few coats on it so hopefully it will work. I will get a pic posted of the progress in a few days.
Got a few questions.. now that i have dug in a little. need a passenger window regulator where is the best place to get one? also need the door handles interior and exterior and the latch for both. About the windows has anyone converted to power using regulators out of other models? if so which ones worked? I have access to numerous models from mustangs to f250s new and old but didnt know if any of them would work. Thanks for the help I will be posting a few pick from the weekend in a minute! hope everyone's week has started off good!

You can buy reproduction window regulators and door handles. I don't believe that latches are available in reproduction. What's wrong with the regulator and latches? Are they missing or is something broken?
However, I have good used parts that you can use in your truck. I have several window regulators, door latches and numerous interior and exterior door handles. Does your left door have a hole under the door handle for the lock cylinder? Post a picture of your door if you're unsure.
I will get the pics. It is the striker plates I need. The pass window crank and both int handles are missing . One Ext handle is rusted through with holes need pad for both. Passenger window reg missing
Anyone need a Lokar Shifter Bracket for a Ford Tranny? THe one I have does not fit the 700 R and I have to buy a new bracket kit. If interested let me know.
