I have a 1979 F250 4x4 that originally had a 400 in it. The PO swapped in a 460 from a '71 car and not very well I might add. To make the car manifolds fit, he did what everyone else does and torched the passenger side frame rail. Can someone tell me if these headers will fit my truck? I don't want fender well exit headers because I don't have enough room with the big tires I run. Thanks in advance! Travis
I've been puttin 460s in the 73-79 for years, everyone dosent like spending that money for headers... all the time doing them i've only seen L&L and Hooker super comp.... the hookers are gone up latley but for $515..they are a nice header, I got years of use from them .#6841 HKR
That's the same headers that I have on my '79 2wd. Not sure if they would fit your 4wd though. The only thing I'd worry about is clearance with your front shaft, but your shaft is pretty low with the rocks under it right?
look at the L&L chassis exit fenders, they driver side curves sharp against the block and almost touches the oil pan. Because the steering shaft and differential is in its way. Where the headers you posted look the same on both sides. I hate to say it but I don't think they will work, I've looked at different headers for my 460 and settled on the L&L fenderwell exit
